There is a massive disturbance in The Force....
Okay, after my groans and sighs a couple of hours ago, i decided to stop my work and relax for awhile..hey I deserved it..and so I surfed my cool 'buddy''s website, JoBlo and saw that Kevin Smith had a chance to go watch Episode 3 early! For those who don't know who the heck is Kevin Smith, let me, the movie geek, enlighten you.
Kevin Smith is a well known writer/director/actor who has been doing classic cult comedies such as 'Clerks', 'Dogma', 'Mallrats', 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back'. He also is a comic book writer and is a great fan of comics. Well that's how far I know him truth be told. I wouldn't want to act like a smart ass because Kevin Smith followers will crush me for that.
Anyway, my point is that if Kevin Smith, one of the biggest Star Wars fan in the world, says something good about a Star Wars movie...he's the man to trust. That being said, here's an excerpt from his website, http://www.newsaskew.com/
“Revenge of the Sith” is, quite simply, f**king awesome. This is the “Star Wars”
prequel the haters have been bitching for since “Menace” came out, and if
they
don’t cop to that when they finally see it, they’re lying. As dark as
“Empire”
was, this movie goes a thousand times darker.
There...now my anticipation for this flick just shot up the roof!! There are spoilers in Kevin's website and I've read them through (see, I normally won't read spoilers but i just can't help it with Ep3), and form what he has described....I'm salivating like hell already!!
For those who don't mind spoilers, visit this link: http://www.newsaskew.com/blog/?m=20050425 and read some fancy tidbits on what happens in Ep3. Not 100% spoilers but just some highlights on this movie. Some other quotes by Kevin Smith on this movie:
This flick is so satisfyingly tragic, you’ll think you’re watching “Othello” or
“Hamlet”.
This is the birth of Darth Vader we’re talking about. The only comic moments in
the flick are given to R2D2, and while good, they’re all pretty few and far
between; the order of the day is dark, dark, dark.
Ian McDiarmid and Ewan McGregor steal the show, but Hayden Christensen silences
any naysayers who wrote him off as too whiney in “Clones”. This is the flick
that feels closest to Episodes 4, 5, and 6, because - for the first time since
“Return of the Jedi” - there is a clear villain.
Remember the link people, but be warned...spoilers ahoy!
